
Patsy Harman, CNM
For the past 20 years, Patsy Harman has been a certified nurse midwife on the faculty of West Virginia University, Ohio State University, and Case Western Reserve University. She has been a speaker at national midwifery conventions around the US and has been published in “The Journal of Midwifery and Women’s Health.”
Patsy is the author of “The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife’s Memoir,” a highly praised memoir about her early struggles as a midwife nurse trying to help women. Her most recent book, “Arms Wide Open,” is a prequel to her first book, where Patsy recounts growing up in the turbulent 60′s and becoming a home-birth midwife.
Patsy specializes in helping patients with pelvic pain, endometriosis, and sexual difficulties. Patsy is the mother of three sons, and has lived on Cheat Lake for the last 20 years with her husband, Tom.
